Truth in Translation
Sept. 6-8, 2007 at SMU

The Embrey Family Foundation sponsors the U.S. premiere of Truth in Translation — an extraordinary theatrical performance that explores the power of forgiveness. Truth in Translation tells the riveting story of how the people of South Africa made a small evolutionary leap to heal their country. This stage production captures that flash of time through the transformation of 11 translators during South Africa’s post-Apartheid Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Today Marks the Beginning is proud to be working with artists in the crafting of a graffiti wall for the Truth In Translation tour. The wall will serve as a traveling record of playgoers' experiences and at each stop as a gathering place of shared emotions and impressions. The theatre is a journey of individuals drawing together in the dark. The graffiti wall can be a journey of individuals drawing together in the light. In the words of Desmond Tutu, "My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together."

The Truth in Translation performances are free and open to the public by reservation only at 214-768-ARTS. Click here for more information.
